Grace Martin Wolfe

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Phil. 4:8

I (Courtney) met Grace when she was a part of the Christian youth theater that my kids participated in. She has a beautiful voice and a beautiful soul. She was always kind and patient with younger kids and fun to be around...working hard, but always smiling.

I got an instant message from her one day that said, "I think you've been hacked, and BTW I love what you're doing, I want to do that when I grow up." I messaged her back and asked her when she wanted to grow up because I needed another teacher! She was just about to graduate from Regent University Art, English, and communication and I knew she would be a great teacher. She sailed through her first year teaching with about 70 students and before the year was up had ideas for two new classes!

Here's what she posted around the time she graduated:

"Because of the toil of scholarship, delight is even greater- Dr. Elam" My English professor said this in one of my classes and it has stuck with me. Because of the hard work, tears, and stress of college, I have learned to delight in scholarship, to cherish learning, and to appreciate mastery so much more. Today, I officially graduated from Regent with a major in English, concentration in Communication, and minor in Art! I cannot take any credit for this achievement, for I am so aware of all of the help and support I received that carried me through these past 4 years. I painted my cap with the words “God is within her, she will not fall” because that encapsulates my college experience. Yes, it was hard, but I learned so much and God never let me fall. He carried me when I couldn’t walk, he gave me the words when another paper seemed unfathomable, and he revealed himself to me in ways I would’ve never know if not for college.

Grace is passionate about fostering creativity in her students and showing them that art is for everyone, all it takes is practice! As a very creative person, Grace sees beauty in everything around her, from nature, to animals, to the complex individuality of people! Inspiring, educating, and getting to know her student's individually brings her tremendous amounts of joy!
