Foundations Match-Ups
All Foundations-age students will enjoy Geo-Art Adventure!
Students learn to draw the continents from memory which will form a foundation for their cycle-specific geography and the whole-world geography in Challenge A!

They will also learn about the biomes of each continent, which is a fun science link. They will learn how to use pastels to create a landscape for each continent.

They will draw and sculpt an animal from each biome, too! This will improve fine motor skills and drawing skills!

Grab the Geo-Art Sketchbook for them because some of the continents are hard to draw and they'll need to trace it at first.
I've met adults who don't know what I'm talking about when I refer to "sour grapes" or "country mouse." Classically educated students should know the fables. Make sure your children know these important references and the important values they instill by joining this class where they'll hear a fable each week!

NEW: beginning 2026-27, the teacher will introduce a couple of Latin words each week. For example, after reading a fable about a wolf, they will learn that "lupus" means "wolf"! This will build their vocabulary and make Latin more approachable and fun!
I always intended to nature journal with my own kids, but I didn't stick with it. This class will help you get started and stick with nature journaling. Plus, your kids will hear a short, fun poem at the beginning of class! You can extend the lesson by memorizing the poem or using it for copy work. (That'd make a great presentation!)

Older students who are beginners in drawing also enjoy this class.

This is also available as a self-paced (pre-recorded) class so you could do this with the whole family. I highly recommend doing this together in the summer.
Essentials-age students love adding this cycle-specific history class. They love bringing their art into Foundations for presentations!

A short history slide show in class inspires a drawing or painting lesson.

2026-27 is Cycle 3, American History AND the 250th birthday of America, so it's a great year to look at the inspiring men and women from American history.

This really enhances your study of history and art!
