Hello

My name is Kinley Bowers. My story began in Tennessee, but I have since lived in Kentucky, North Carolina, California, Pennsylvania, Italy, and now Virginia. After graduating from twelve years of Classical Conversations, I moved to Grove City College.

My Story

Due to my bohemian sense of anarchy (kidding), I chose a path of impracticality which led to a BA in English and a minor in Spanish. I love writing, storytelling, editing, reading (especially Wendell Berry), sketching, sculpting, birdwatching, fishing, acting, hiking on flat ground, playing piano, crocheting small animals, sporadically caring for my ponytail palm, taking travel photos with a miniature bigfoot, and finding something memorable in every day. I love little things and old things and would like to encourage this love in others.

My four younger siblings and I have entertained ourselves with paper and pencil for as long as I can remember. We drew thousands of people with names, ages, personalities, jobs, families, and neighborhoods to fill imaginary towns. Because of this, I have always been fascinated by humans and their stories. In high school, I took Chad Stewart’s Animation Course, which focused on drawing cartoons and caricatures. I also completed Scott Eaton’s Anatomy for Artists, a course on accurately drawing the human body. I also attended art classes in the studio of Californian sculptor Brian Keith. During my semester abroad in Florence, I took a sculpture class with Matthew Collins, in which I sculpted a bust and spent 36 hours working on a disembodied nose. My favorite artists are Norman Rockwell, Morgan Weistling, Bill Pete, Paul Sawyier, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

I took several classes with Courtney Sanford while I was still in highschool and just before my senior year of college, I joined a Delightful art retreat and enjoyed reconnecting with Delightful Art Co. Shortly after that, I worked with Courtney and Maddie to write The Art of Medieval and Renaissance History as an intern. I joined the teaching team of Delightful Art Co. in 2026 to teach Courtroom Sketch Artist, Paint Your Way Through Great Books, and Paint Your Way Through Art History and continue writing books and blogs!
