Classes begin the week of September 14 and go for 12 weeks before Christmas break. (Teachers will give you the date of fall break.)
In this live, online class, students will learn where math ideas, formulas, and theories came from and then create art inspired by those ideas.
They'll meet Pythagoras and create art using the Pythagorean theorem. Learn about Plato and draw the Platonic solids. Meet Euclid and do constructions using only a straight edge and a ruler. Meet Archimedes and create art using pi. Meet Escher and illustrate a Möbius strip.
Understanding and illustrating math concepts will enhance every student's study of math, no matter what level they are working in!
Recommended for high school-age students. Algebraic equations, math patterns and sequences, and geometry will be used to create art, but the homework will be art, rather than math.
