Learn to draw like a courtroom artist in this fun drawing class!

Students will learn about famous court cases and see the drawings made during those trials.

They'll learn how to use one- and two-point perspective. They'll experiment with different points-of-view, and learn to watch for and select the right moment to illustrate to tell the story and capture the most exciting moments of a trial.

They'll learn how to capture a likeness of a figure and show motion as well as capture the mood of the room. They'll use a pencil, black pen, colored pencils, and watercolor to tell the story well.

If students have the opporutnity to attend a mock trial, they can sketch and show the class!

Meets live, online once a week
for one hour
12 weeks in the fall semester and 12 weeks in the spring semester

Ages 12 through high school

The images shown are from the book, "The Illustrated Courtroom 50+ Years of Court Art", 2nd Edition, Elizabeth Williams and Sue Russell. The teacher will be using this book as a reference for class. It's not required for the students, but if they would like to do extra reading, it's availalbe on Amazon.
